Hello, I’m Carolyn, I organise the volunteer vet and vet nurse visits to Greece, deal with general administration, order and send equipment to organisers on the mainland and islands and help allocate funding. I joined GCWS in 2012 as a volunteer and then became a Trustee in 2018. I’m a retired clinical physiologist in cardiology and liver transplantation (for humans!).

Trustee & Veterinary Nurse
Hi I’m Helen, I’m a Veterinary Nurse and I joined the GCWS as a volunteer in 2016. I have helped on many neutering campaigns in Athens and the Greek Islands and became a Trustee for the charity in 2018. Alongside this role I help with the charity’s social media, fundraising events and production of the calendar. I also plan to help out on more neutering campaigns in the future!
Trustee & Web Developer
Hello, I’m Phil and I wrote this website. I spent nearly all of my working life since the mid seventies working in IT for large national and multi national companies as a programmer. When I retired in 2008 I started to write web sites for small companies, individual clients and charities and got involved with the GCWS in 2015 when I heard they were looking for a new web site. I became a trustee the following year. Since then I have written sites for 3 other animal rescue charities.
Volunteer, Gift Aid Coordinator & Financial Assistant
I have always supported cat welfare charities in the UK and I went on holiday to Greece and have never forgotten the amount of starving cats everywhere and the attitude towards them. It was great to discover there is a UK charity managed by volunteers only trying to help them and to then become part of this team. I have got to know so many fantastic animal welfare people all over mainland Greece and many of the islands. The only answer is neutering and I am so proud of what GCWS achieves and how this important work expands every year.
